Unlock the Power of Cover Art: Grab Readers’ Attention and Ignite Curiosity

Cover art serves one purpose, and one purpose only, to get potential customers interested long enough to pick up the book to read the back cover blurb. -Larry Correia

Aspiring authors, get this through your head. Cover art serves one purpose, and one purpose only, to get potential customers interested long enough to pick up the book to read the back cover blurb.

Your book's cover art is the flashing beacon of light you see while driving down the highway at night in the midst of a rainstorm. Share on X

It grabs your attention and refuses to let it go.

This is the feeling you want to instill in your ideal reader if you want them to stop the scroll and learn more about your book.

At that point, its job is done and your book marketing copy takes over.

“What’s In It For Me?”

If your book marketing copy is compelling and answers the question foremost in your reader’s mind, he or she will buy your book without hesitation.

There are plenty of great book cover designers out there.  One of my favorites is Adrijus Guscia of RockingBookCovers.com

Every year Adrijus challenges himself to create 100 new covers during NaNoWriMo. He’s a very talented designer and it’s such an inspiration to watch him in action.

If you write fiction and are looking for a great cover for your book, I encourage you to visit his website and find the perfect cover for your book.

I’m a huge fan of his work, so if you choose to use Adrijus for your book cover, please tell him I sent you!
