No Excuses: How Hard Work Sets You Apart as an Author

I’m not the most talented writer. I’m not the most skilled writer either.

But I am a hard-working and committed writer, which means I’ve written and published dozens of books while other, more skilled and more talented writers haven’t published a single one.

That’s not a measure of how awesome I am. It’s simply one measure of why I’ve been successful where others have not.

It’s also why I’m such a fan of athletes at the pinnacle of their chosen sport.  Ultra athletes do the hard work every day that their peers won’t so that on Game Day, they can do what others can’t.

Hard work will always win out.

Your belief in yourself, backed up by the daily work required to achieve success, guarantees you will write and publish your book when thousands of other would-be authors will look at you and wonder, “How did they do that?”

Success is simple.

1.  Pick your desired goal.

2.  Design your detailed Roadmap for Success.

3.  Apply daily effort to each step of your plan.

4.  Refuse to quit until you achieve your goal.

It’s simple, but not necessarily easy. If it was easy, everyone would write and publish their book.

It takes hard work, every day, to achieve success.
