Fear is the gatekeeper that prevents you from achieving your dreams.
“I’m too busy to write a book.”
“I don’t have time to write.”
“I don’t know what to write.”
For reasons I’ll never understand, sitting down to write – to do the thing I love doing most in this world – is also when procrastination and other mental derangements often rear their stupid little heads.
“I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.”
Everything we consider “ordinary” today was first an idea in someone’s mind. They had to take their idea and transform it into reality.
Letting go of our past failures can be challenging, but it’s also required if we want to turn our dreams for our future into our reality.
Motivation: the psychological feature that arouses an organism to action toward a desired goal.
Daring to be epic means stepping out of our comfort zone, forgetting what anyone else thinks or says about us, and doing the thing we know we must do to achieve our dreams.
Motivation, like inspiration, can be a fickle friend, so I believe in building a solid foundation and build levels of motivation on top of it so I can more easily achieve my dreams.
If I sit around waiting for inspiration to strike, odds are I won’t accomplish much. Why? Inspiration is a whim I can’t control.
