It’s so easy to lie to ourselves, isn’t it? Especially about our intention to write.
That we don’t write almost seems beside the point.
We’re so busy judging ourselves by our intention to write that we forget the world doesn’t give a crap about that.
Nor do the people waiting for our book because they need to hear the message in the way only WE can write it.
The world and those impatient readers who need us, care about our actions, not our intentions.
Make the decision to write. Set aside a time each day to write. Schedule it on your calendar. Yes, with reminders.
Or decide to write this very instant!
“But I only have 15 minutes!” you cry.
You can write a full page of your book in 15 minutes. You can write 3 pages in 30 minutes.
Time or lack of it isn’t the issue.
Refusing to hold yourself to a higher standard is the issue.
At a penny per word you wrote, could you buy a cup of coffee today? Share on XLeft to my own devices, me neither.
That’s why it’s essential that you set up a system so you will do what you say you’ll do, when you say you’ll do it, whether you feel like it or not.
