Life Is Not Accumulation. It Is About Contribution.

-Stephen R. Covey

What is the purpose of life? It’s a question we must all answer, eventually.

Like Covey and so many others, I believe life is about contribution, not accumulation.

I belief life is about service to others, positively impacting the lives of those around me.

Thank back to a specific point in time when you were filled with joy and gratitude.

Now consider WHY you were so filled with joy and gratitude.

Is it because you were of service to someone else? You put their needs above your own?

We simply feel better about ourselves and our world when we’re contributing positively to the lives of others.

Being of service to others instills a deep sense of fulfillment inside us.

So, if you’re not feeling fulfilled today, ask yourself why.

Are you serving others, or are you more focused on yourself and your perceived needs?

If that’s the case, the fix is easy. Flip your focus to others, and serve them in some small (or big) way.

See if that doesn’t change your own perception as well.

Now think about your book.  Where is your focus? Is your book focused on service to others or service to self?

If the former, fantastic. If the latter, consider changing your lens so you can have the impact in the world you know you were born for.
