This week we’re reading The Now Habit at Work: Perform Optimally Maintain Focus and Ignite Motivation in Yourself and Others by Neil Fiore
Say “Yes!” and take that step. Your published book is inevitable when you do.
When I put off my writing with the excuse, “I’m too busy, I’ll write twice as much tomorrow” I heap rocks onto my already growing pile of overwhelm.
Define your next step and commit to it. Whatever that opportunity is, take action on it immediately.
There is no “perfect” moment. There is only this moment, right now.
When is tomorrow the best time to start writing your book?
Never.
If we wait for that “perfect” time to write, when inspiration, motivation and desire all collide, we’re not going to get much writing done.
When is the best day to quit writing your book?
Tomorrow.
For reasons I’ll never understand, sitting down to write – to do the thing I love doing most in this world – is also when procrastination and other mental derangements often rear their stupid little heads.
