From Excuses to Success: The Power of Daily Writing Habits

If you want to do something, you’ll find a way. If you don’t, you’ll find an excuse.

-Jim Rohn

It’s a beautiful sunny day outside. I’d love to be out there relaxing in the sun, going for a walk or just reading a book in my hammock.

As lovely as those activities are, they don’t get the next chapter of my book finished.

The same is true for you and your book, too.

Nobody likes being a disciplined writer, but I love my finished, published book.

If I schedule my daily writing sessions on my calendar, but never show up and keep them, they’re useless.

But when I show up, even when I don’t feel like it, I’ll complete the next piece of my book. Guaranteed.

I did the hard work. I designed my complete, detailed Roadmap for Author Success for this book.

I know what to do. That’s the point of the Roadmap.

I know why I’m doing it. That’s the gasoline that powers my writing engine.

I know who I’m doing it for. This is the fulfillment waiting for me at the end of my journey down Publication Highway.

Galatians 6:9 guides us to persevere until we succeed.

And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.”

When I keep my word to myself, I am more confident, and when I’m confident, I write better, faster and easier.

Keep your word to yourself. Persevere, even when it's hard and your published book is guaranteed. Share on X
