No better words for #AuthorMindsetMonday!
We are in control of our life, but that doesn’t mean we’re in control of everything that happens to us. In those moments, our attitude is the most important thing.
When my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer, we couldn’t control that diagnosis, but after the initial shock wore off, we did the best we could to change our attitude toward it.
Chemotherapy sessions became “Dress Up to Kill Cancer” days, for example. My wife would dress up however she felt that day – some days in a pink flamingo onesie – while I put on something other than my normal daily attire.
It was all part of shifting our attitude toward the challenge we faced and I credit her attitude, along with an awesome oncologist who shared her passion for a positive attitude, for obliterating the cancer in her body in just 4 chemo sessions.
Her belief she had more to do, that it wasn’t her time, positively impacted her own mind and everyone she interacted with at the cancer center.
Life will hand us a bucket of lemons. We can let them rot or we can make lemonade. Share on XThe decision is always ours.
Follow my wife’s example and choose to live in the Land of Possibility, not the land of despair.
