Whether we’re writing a book or attempting to complete some other awesome goal, some days we fall into the trap of negative thinking epitomized by “I can’t do this” or “It’s too hard.”
Both are lies, of course. You CAN do this and while it may feel difficult in the moment, that challenge is vastly outweighed by the positive feelings of fulfilment and accomplishment when we push through to the end.
It doesn’t matter how slowly you go on the road to achieving your dreams, so long as you don’t stop.
If you stop, you run the risk of turning a temporary setback into a permanent defeat.
And here’s the biggest issue with that.
You did it to yourself.
Every day we face a choice.
Will we give up and turn our temporary defeat into a permanent one?
Or will we make the courageous choice and get back up, brush ourselves off and try one more time?
My challenge to you is – no matter what happens today – try one more time than you fail.
This builds character. This builds resilience.
This builds a life you can be proud of, no matter the outcome.
Integrity matters. Yes, even in this hate-filled, spite-filled fractured society we live in.
Make this one commitment to yourself.
“I will stand up one more time than I get knocked down today. No matter what.”
