The only time you don’t fail is the last time you try anything — and it works.
-William Strong
I’m here every day at 3:00 o’clock Pacific, sharing inspiration, motivation and encouragement for you, no matter where you are in your writing journey.
I use a slide deck for every video, both to focus your mind so it generates connections between what I’m sharing and your lived experience, and to make sure I stay on track.
But creating a new slide deck every day is time-consuming.
I recently spent three days building an app to create a PowerPoint deck from scratch.
The first two days were frustrating. No matter what I tried, it failed. I’ve been down this road before, and I knew that, eventually, I’d find a solution.
On Day 3 I tried a new approach. It worked. Now with the click of a button, I generate 105 slide decks in just over 12 minutes.
Was it worth 3 days of my time? Absolutely!
Could I say that if I quit after the 2nd frustrating day? No.
Persistence guaranteed my eventual success.
Persistence will guarantee your success too.
Apply the wisdom of Proverbs 24:16 to your life. Stand up one more time than you fall. Try again. Repeat.
Failure is inevitable. It’s how we grow as writers and as human beings.
Failure is just a stepping stone on your journey to success.
