The greatest danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it.
-Michelangelo
If your dream of writing a book feels impossible in this moment, ask yourself why?
The flame of desire is already lit inside you.
So what’s holding you back?
Is it the “how” overwhelms you?
Here’s a really simple solution. Start.
Yes, just start.
I never wrote a book, not a complete book, until I did it the very first time. And I had 15 years of failure proving I was a fool to believe this time would be any different.
But over those 15 years of “failure” I learned how to write and FINISH a book. Starting was never the issue. Finishing, well, that was a whole different story.
[bctt tweet=”Want to know the secret? The one tiny change that turned my writing life around?”]
I wrote the book using a detailed outline – the thing I flat-out refused to do during those 15 years of “failure.”
I aimed high. I refused to let anything stop me. I refused to accept “good enough” or “maybe tomorrow.”
I did all the things this time that I didn’t do before.
And I succeeded. And I honed my skills and my process some more. And I succeeded again. Rinse and repeat and now I have 50 published books.
It all seems surreal on one hand, yet simple and expected on the other.
