There’s a great scene at the end of Boondock Saints, where Connor, played by Sean Patrick Flanery, asks his father,
“How far are we willing to go, Da?”
Il Duce, played brilliantly by Billy Connolly, responds saying,
“The question is not how far. The question is do you possess the constitution, the depth of faith, to go as far as is needed?”
This is the question I ask myself every Fear-Free Friday, and it’s the question I pose to you today.
Are you willing to go as far as is needed, as far as is required to write and publish your book? Share on XBecause, let’s face it, everyone has fears. Everyone has self-doubt. Everyone has limiting beliefs that keep us from our own personal promised land.
But, if I’m truly embracing my fear-free mindset in that moment, my answer is always,
“Yes! I will go as far as is needed to turn my dreams into my reality.”
I must face down all of my fears; I must face down every limiting belief that rears its ugly little head so I can write a book whose ideas are worth fighting for.
I must banish every self-doubt, including the granddaddy of them all – impostor syndrome – and write the book that will impact the world in the way I know I was born for.
And so must you.
So how will you confront your fears today?
How will you embrace courage today?
How will you crush the cockroaches of the mind that undermine you today?
