The writing life is a courageous life because we must continually face down our fears and our internal demons and slay them – often repeatedly – in order to write, finish and publish our books.
But that courage pays tremendous dividends.
The next time we sit down to write, it’s just a little easier once we slay that demon of the mind – procrastination – for the first time.
Once we realize our fear is part of an ancient self-protection mechanism that no longer serves us, it’s so much easier to simply thank it for its service, wipe it away and keep going.
Whenever fear rears its ugly head – and in whatever form that fear manifests itself – understand it has no place in your life today. It simply doesn’t.
That fear doesn’t serve you today.
So surround yourself with people who believe in you, your vision and your ability and lean on them for encouragement when these self-doubts and fears arise.
And always keep Joshua 1:9 close to your heart.
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.“
You're not meant to live in fear. You're meant to live in courage and in faith that you can write and publish your book.
