To achieve dreams we’ve never accomplished before, like writing the first draft of a book, we must take risks we’ve never dared take before.
We must take the leap of faith and believe the net will appear when we need it most.
Focus
This blind faith in your ability to succeed is an essential element of your successful author mindset.
You must believe in yourself even when you have no evidence you should because if you don’t take that leap, the net cannot appear.
This is the paradox of the writing life.
Your limiting beliefs will try and sell you all kinds of half-truths, untruths and outright lies. So long as you courageously step out in faith, you will overcome those negative beliefs and, with careful planning, replace them with positive and empowering beliefs instead.
The starting point, as I noted above, is your willingness to belief writing and publishing a book is possible FOR YOU.
That willingness to believe is the engine that powers you forward toward a completed first draft, then to a polished final draft and on to publication.
Is writing a book scary?
No, it’s not. The part that scares most writers – especially first-time authors – isn’t writing the book, it’s what happens after their book is published.
More specifically, the fear is about what doesn’t happen after you publish your book – nobody buys and reads it.
This fear is a lie, as they all are.
Take the leap, because everything you want from life is found on the other side of your fear.
