Your tribe of ideal readers – the individuals who appreciate your work and the heart and soul you poured into your book – are out there.
If you face rejection today, it’s only because you haven’t identified them yet.
If you don’t believe this, I challenge you to create a blog and publish something new every day for a year. Before your first month is over, people who appreciate your writing will gravitate to your blog. They will tell you what they like and what they don’t.
These precious souls are your tribe.
I did this in 2004. It took less than three weeks for my writing to find its following. I was stunned, because I wrote for me and me alone, yet my pain, my joy and every emotion in between resonated with complete strangers.
If you’re stuck in the procrastination doom loop with your writing, start a blog and commit to writing and publishing something new every day.
You will train yourself to write every day, whether you feel like it or not, and this habit will pay you for the rest of your life. Share on XYou will receive both praise and condemnation – the immunization against criticism and rejection of your ideas.
Through this journey, you will find your voice and your following.
It may be your most challenging and uplifting journey yet, as well as a journey you will love and be forever grateful for.
