Most people tend to let outside forces dictate their actions. It’s simply easier to let prevailing winds toss you around the sea of your life.

It requires no effort and no thinking to allow your emotional responses to dictate your life.

The problem, of course, it’s a terribly unfulfilling way to live your life.

Responding instead of reacting is a little harder because we must set aside our immediate emotional response in favor of thinking beyond the immediate moment.

Initiating is the hardest of all because we must make a decision, build a plan to support that decision, and implement the plan to turn our decision into reality.

What is your vision for your life?

Who must you become to realize that vision in your life?

What must you initiate to live your dream life?

Simple questions.

Hard answers.

It all rests on your decision to initiate action.

Everything after that becomes easier because, once you gain forward momentum, it’s easier to maintain and increase that momentum.

This is why daily action is so helpful and so necessary. You build on your past momentum and you simply refuse to stop until you arrive at your destination.

It’s beautiful.

It’s simple.

And it can be easy, if you allow it to be.

It’s also the road to success in any avenue of life, not just writing.
